Michael is passionate about sustainable change and transformation and has been involved in driving large and complex change initiatives in multinational companies for the last 20 years, supporting senior teams in bringing their vision and strategy to life.
Initially trained as a management consultant, Michael embraced over the last years a different approach to improve effectiveness in the corporate world, focusing primarily on people rather than processes or systems style of coaching combines empathetic support with an insightful challenge. He typically likes to try out new approaches to bring in fresh perspectives and enable his clients to come up with their own answers and commit to action. Having been in several leadership roles in large global organisations (Retail/Luxury, IT, Telco, Consulting), and in charge of delivering substantial transformation, he brings a unique mix of commercial acumen and understanding of change dynamics in his coaching conversations.
In his last role (2013 to 2017), Michael was in charge of Global Leadership Development at Swarovski. His focus is to ensure organisations develop leaders that can balance the business with the people focus, and are equipped with the tools and mindset necessary to thrive in an uncertain and complex world. The Leadership Academy he developed jointly with Ashridge Business School got recognized by a Gold Award from EFMDand a Silver Award from Training Journal in 2016.
Michael is a certified coach with the ICF (ACC), and specialised in solution-focused coaching (Coaching program led by Solutions Surfers / Peter Szabo). He’s also followed a rigorous training on Virtual Coaching with Ashridge Executive Education (Virtual Action Learning – Ghislaine Caulat).
He’s licensed to use several psychometric tests (Firo B, MBTI) which he brings in where appropriate in the coaching sessions. In addition, he is fluent in French, German and English.
